We made a humble beginning in Tourism with a vision to offer very exclusive tour programmes to the foreign tourists. It was the era of telex machines, telegrams and staff runners. There were no computers, no websites, and no mobile phone; communications were a constant challenge. Little was known of the ''locations and potential places'', tucked away in the cultural landscapes of India.
It all began with our Founder's love for travel and adventure, a name; Quest Adventure Tours India was born. It was the start of an "interesting journey", an odyssey which continues today.
The travel plans of most tourists in those days were mostly about the historical monuments in big cities. Tourism to India was only about city sightseeing, it was not about our "native communities" and their colourful experiences and encounters. At a time when India's tourism industry was still in it's infancy, we dared to be different and moved ahead with new travel ideas and began to introduce untrodden travel adventures and cultural discovery concepts. We lead by designing and offering the most well researched programmes for foreign tourists desiring to visit our extraordinary country.
Realising the immense potential and appeal of 'unexplored parts' of India, we started to foster the idea of an Ethnic India Network and eventually put into place, a network of local families along the different routings to enable all our tourists to experience the "unexplored and non-touristic India". It was an idea which also brought economic benefits for local people in various regions. We pioneered the exciting idea of ''lifestyle tourism'' to enable foreigners visiting India to take part in real-time rituals events, encounters, and celebrations in our colourful communities. This was begining of a new chapter.
The travel products we designed and the services we provided in India, became much in demand amongst many Tour Operators. We became India partners for some of the major companies in Western Europe, UK, and USA.
In order to manage the rapidly increasing numbers of tourists trusting us, we continued to build our teams and the systems for prompt co-ordination across our chain of associates and local families within our network.
Clients we served once, became a part of our woldwide fraternity of friends. Their suggestions and ideas encouraged us to plan our diversifications and directed our initiatives. It was the beginning of a fresh understanding about the need of the market and we began to design market specific tour programmes but with our characteristic touch of real time live-tourism effect. It was a very successful initiative and brought more tour operators into our list of partners in various countries.
Sensing the important need for 'professional management' of small to mid sized resorts hotels and places of stay, we added the Hospitality Management to our portfolio. The effort was to help them provide finer standards of inhouse services to their guests.
Noticing the necessities to take up environmental challenges in our country, we began to initiate the first ever Eco Welfare effort in "tourism" and kick started the initiatives of 'Silver Earth India’.
We invited a permaculture and eco management professional from USA and collaborated with them and introduced a number of eco-friendly procedures and systems at the different places.
We engaged 'volunteers' from Europe and hosted them here, who helped us in our initiatives
to 'spread eco-awareness' and introducing basic eco practices and procedures for the staffs of many hospitality units with very special training for rural people working in these places. All our Tour escorts and Local guides were also trained to be our eco marshals and local supporters.
Our organisation grew further, the idea of the ‘Timeless India Group’ began to take shape. Investors keen on the growing tourism and hospitality sectors began to seek our advice. We joined hands with the very best professionals in Austria, France. In co-operation with them and with our understanding of the local conditions, we introduced a set of professional Consulting Services for investors, ranging from conceptualisations of the leisure and hospitality projects, management and staff training, entrepreneurship supports and guidance, marketing and brand building and the related service.
We invested and set aside 21,500 square meters of prime land to set up a school for 'imparting tourism and hospitality orientation and eco-friendly awareness programmes' for our rural communities.
It will be headed by two experts from Florida and managed by a 'team of volunteers'. The idea is to provide a foundation for self sustainable future for the rural generations. It will promote art crafts of recycling and will also provide hands-on training on skills of entrepreneurship and encourage them to start their own businesses under MSME and the State Govt schemes.
The catastrope of Covid brought the 'whole world' to a stand still. It was the era of total lockdown, TIG extended its help to human needs in whichever way it could. We donated toward medication and sent regular parcel of masks and food rations for distributions amongst the needy people.
Our teams worked from homes and devoted the weeks to keep our network of people all across
the country motivated and well engaged. In addition to this, we conducted '117' sessions online for students and rural youth to orient them on tourism future.
The whole world started moving again. We firmed up our charter of the new Covid safe protocols.
Our journey continued. We kept moving forward on our pathway of uncompromised professional disciplines and with the passion of being better than others. TIG became the only organisation in the country, catering to a range of professional needs in tourism related businesses and amongst the most trusted organisation in "Quality Assured Services", and offering diverse Travel Products. In October 2024 it completed 39 years of its service to travellers.
We at TIG, are inspired by a firm 'belief', that each one of us here, has the strength and the ability to overcome and defeat any odd, we are determined to provide you the very best, our incredible India has to offer.
TIG today has come a long way from its humble beginning in the October of the year 1985. It is for us more of a passion that a typical business. Never a single day goes by amongst us without us appreciating one another. It is, after all the result of 'nearly 4 decades' of a remarkable journey which continues today.
Over 40 years of ground services and leisure travel ideas, we have the unique distinction of having served a wide spectrum of travellers and luminaries from across the world, ranging from the royalties of Spain, Belgium and Netherlands to the senior corporate executives of the Airbus Industries, and from famed Artists, Film makers, Authors and High Adventurers to middle class Teachers and modest job Citizens.
We have served Individual Travellers, Group Travellers, and Families from over 25 countries trusting us with logistics planning and tour arrangements. Our overseas partners include many tour-operators and travel companies and agents located in major cities of world.
This is apart from several people and organisations in India, whom we provide consulting service and support for different projects.
